Many of you have been following our family adventures for a few years now. Thank you for being part of our virtual village. đđ» Iâve been thinking a lot lately that it was kind of sad we hadnât made more of an effort to connect. It feels like a bit of a loss that there was all this collective wisdom, and all I had been showing the kids are sports bloopers and goofy AI generated videos.
So I decided to just ask the question – who are you and what matters most to you? What is that secret ingredient that brings your life purpose, meaning, and joy? I feel like if social media had more of these safe spaces for empowering messages, we could maybe find more common ground – rather than being pushed apart by politics and extremism.
We try to gather the kids up at least once a week to check in and see how they are all doing, and to share some sort of inspirational story or message. So please, please share so we can read your comments to the kids. Thank you for taking a second to share. đ

I personally believe a child needs three things to learn and grow: (1) to be challenged; (2) to have a safe environment to fail, explore, and do their best; and (3) to have a friend or mentor encouraging them.
With that in mind, I can never thank Kru @bryan_dobler and @phuketmuaythai enough for being the perfect teachers. And to have @enriko_the_hurricane_kehl as a special guest instructor our second day way unforgettable. Itâs funny how sometimes you meet people who feel like family you just hadnât met yet. Unfortunately our luggage wasnât big enough to bring the gym home with us.

I love that the kids have gotten to meet some incredible people and learn from their life stories. For example, when we were in Uzbekistan, Bridger met @sammy_0237 who founded a sports apparel brand based in Thailand. He is one of those passionate people who left the âtraditionalâ safe path to pursue a dream. He told Bridger that we had to stop by his factory (@yuthsportgear) if we were ever in Thailand. As it turned out, the boysâ Muay Thai training camp was scheduled for a couple days at the @fairtextrainingcenter right next to Samâs office. Bridger was so excited to share his book. Sam was so gracious when Bridger gave it to him – and Sam said he would have a surprise for Bridger the following morning. Incredibly, Sam and his team was able to design and produce 7 custom shirts using the books pictures! đ€© He also had it set up so each kid could silk screen their own t-shirt. We were initially anxious at the idea of taking the boys to Thailand đčđ with no prior experience. We really didnât know what to expect. The boys were especially nervous! All that changed the second they stepped into the gym @superbon.trainingcamp.
The boys were first greeted by the current Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion, Superbon Singha Mawynn (@superbon_banchamek). The trainers were all amazing, but @krujeng_ was incredible with the kids. He spent a lot of time with each boy making sure they were learning and having fun! The boys smiles speak for themselves.

Ever since Bridgerâs heroic actions exactly four years ago, we have been discussing with our children âWhat makes a hero?â Is it always a great big act or sacrifice – or can heroes be found in normal everyday people? This book is a result of those discussions.
For most people, their heroes are found in seemingly small acts. A true hero does the little things every day because nobodyâs life is defined by a single act – for good or bad. Even if it is hard or scary, a hero just keeps showing up and doing their best.
The book is dedicated to all of you – our heroes. Those that went out of their way to make a small boy in Wyoming feel so very important during the trial of his life. We sincerely love you all.
And to continue the giving – 10% of the net profit of all sales will go to charity.
And a very special thank you to @angelofrance for making this book a reality. He was able to take vague ideas and turn them into these perfect scenes. So much more than we could have ever hoped for!

đšExciting news – Late last year Bridger saw the top comment challenge made famous by @reed_harrington23 – the one that talks about flying to Thailand to train MuayThai. Well . . . a couple months ago we were contacted by @wbcmuaythai and asked whether the family would like to come stay in Thailand for a few weeks and participate in their MuayThai camp instructed by some of the best in the world. A once in a lifetime experience! Both Bridger and Johnny have years of jiu jitsu training, but this will be a brand new experience for them. So. . . Iâm pretty sure this makes them both the youngest to start a journey toward the #topcommentchallenge. Over the next month weâll share some of their training as they start getting ready for this incredible opportunity. Thank you to @tourismthailand and @wbcmuaythai for giving them this amazing adventure. Also, thank you to @fightcamp for helping them get in shape and prepare. How are Johnny and Valkyrie? Earlier today Johnny mentioned that he still thinks about and misses Thor every day, but that Valkyrie has made things so much easier. He said when heâs having a hard day at school, he just thinks about her waiting for him when he gets home. And she never leaves his side when heâs home. We laugh because you can always tell the second she realizes she doesnât know where âher boyâ is. Doesnât matter who she is with or what she is doing, her ears go up and she quickly scans the room. Johnny feeds her, potty trained her in about three weeks, and has been very protective. What books are a âmust addâ to the new family library? đ Seriously, please share because my Audible credits are starting to pile up. We are particularly happy with the built-in shelves, having never done anything quite so ambitious before. When Bridger was injured, his aunt called us at the hospital to ask if she could share his story on Instagram. Bridger had always been a huge Marvel fan, and she hoped someone could help her with a get-well card from one of his favorite superheroes. We genuinely never anticipated the huge outpouring of support, but Bridgerâs âvirtual villageâ made some incredible things happen for Bridger during his recovery. Johnnyâs dog Thor slept on his bed every night his entire life. So ever since Thor passed, Johnny has had a hard time wanting to go to his room alone. He would often sneak off with Bridger or Myleeâs dog so he wouldnât feel alone at night. He has prayed every night for months asking for his own dog, and anytime weâre out he asks if we can go play with puppies at the pet store. His reaction says it all. For a long time I felt like I let Bridger down as a father, and broke my promise to keep him safe. I still do sometimes. đđą But I have to remember, no family is free of difficulty, illness, pain, or hardship. And as much as weâd like to, it would be impossible to completely eliminate those things from our childrenâs lives. I think that is why the quote in this reel has been on my mind a lot lately. We all have our own trials, some more life altering and permanent than others. But the thing that remains the same is our ability to choose how to respond. We can feel angry or defeated that the world hurt us, or we can, with determination, ride out the storm to the best of our ability.
